My Modeling Career
Am Queen Deborah Chidera Owhorkirie, a native of Choba in Obio- Akpor LGA in Rivers State. Am a 300 level student of university of port Harcourt/ model / beauty queen. Am the first runner up of Nigeria Glam Queen and also the second runner up of most elegant girl in rivers state.
I started modelling in 2014, where I contested in Face of Generation next model, Miss Obio- Akpor that same year I did my first runway with Total and Tush.
Early 2015 I had a fire accident ( gas explosion) and I lost hope and confidence and I ended my modeling career cos of the scars on my leg, hands and back i was afraid to show the world my body forgetting that God save me for a reason, forgetting that so many people died in that gas explosion but I survive, forgetting that am beautiful and wonderful created by God and those scars make me different and unique. I had so many set back, so many challenge the Deborah that encourage people to follow their dream, desire and goal was covering her body and hiding her scars for people not to see it.
Early 2018 i met with a long lost friend who told me to pick most elegant girl rivers form but I refuse giving him reason that I’ve scars and that I can’t face the crowd he was disappointed and he left but he never gave up on me he keep calling me day by day advising me to pick the form, I decided to let go of my fears and take the opportunity and work towards. Am happy cos despite my up and downs, my challenges I can proudly walk showing people my scars, also I can face the crowd.
About my current crowns I came out as 2nd runner up in most elegant girl rivers and I was ask to represent the brand in Lagos at Nigeria Glam Queen as God may have it I came out as first runner up. I can’t thank God enough because his grace is what keep me going in life, I got the confidence and hope I lost back and am achieving my dreams and also fulfilling my desires once again.
My advise to younger generations is never give up on your dreams and goals cos what lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to wat lies within us.
To my CEO( Mr Obi Henry Izuchukwu) I say a very big thank you for the advice and support and to My new CEO (Mr Peejay ) I say thank you
