The Governor of Abia State Okezie Ikpeazu has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to improve the voting pattern in the country to make the work less cumbersome on its staff.
Ikpeazu stated this shortly after voting at his Umuobiakwa Country home in Obingwa Local Government of the state.
He expressed the fear of how INEC staff in the area would be able to accredit the large number of voters that came out to vote at Ward 7 unit 003 in Umuobiakwa.
He said, “I sympathise with INEC because it’s not easy to provide logistics for all the polling units across the Country at the same time. I think we should think more in the direction of science and technology.
“I don’t know why ballot papers cannot be provided online and then a voters can call for the ballot papers through a computer and vote rather than standing under the sun to vote. We really need to reform, otherwise, this process is becoming very cumbersome
